Lesson#3---The MBA Life

Image
The story continues... So I studied for CAT for a year. In that year I did just that! Study foolishly. Full on Ratta! Didn't even realise that the vicious cycle of rattafication was being repeated! The teachers were just fine, but I was too naive to re-invent myself! I could have studied better. My approach could have been better. How? Don't just study. Do something else too.  A job, an internship, NGO, drama classes, anything!--full-time if you can manage or else part-time---it helps you refresh. Take CAT classes if you have the time and energy. Or else DIY! VA--study English, take tests(VERY IMPORTANT), read newspapers(IMPORTANT)---RWLS---read, write, listen(MOVIES), speak(debate to yourself!) QA---learn short-cuts(very important), practice, fail, practice, take tests---do easy ones if that is what you can handle. Easy and Medium is all that is needed.  DILR--practice all the way! Again learn shortcuts, practice, fail, tests! Take tests on section-wise and the...

Learning#2--The College Days

So the story continues. I selected commerce in 11th. Passed out of 12th with good grades. Now when it came to choosing a college, I was totally at sea. Didn't know what to research. how to research, and didn't even reach out for help from anybody--like anybody! Chose a college which in itself was pretty good. After all, all schools and colleges are good. It's how you make the best out of it. Some people are able to use the opportunity and really do something with their life, others just wander and do nothing much. Still others like me try to do something with lots and lots of speed but no direction and then just end up quitting! During my college days, I made lots of wrong decisions--that cost me my time, my money, my peace of mind. I explored, I did explore a lot, but never reached out for guidance. Took decisions hap-hazzardly! I joined the CAT coaching classes just after 2 days of passing 12th! I mean that is ridiculous. Then, I joined college and was t...

Learning#1—The School Days

Image
So, I have studied in a total of 3 schools. I changed them after 4-5 years max. Not out of choice. I really liked the schools/hostels in which I did study. The teachers, facilities, opportunities, students, etc. were all good. The overall experience was also kind of good and memorable. One which even if I wanted to, I can’t shake off. But, as far as learning from my mistakes goes, it is only now that I realise that my school days and my school experience could have been so much more! To set the record right, I am kind of talented in many fields. What it comes down to basically is that I am a fast learner. I am good in sports, debating, writing, art, music, etc… I could do all of these—could but kind of didn’t. But what I didn’t realise was that I should have done something which I wanted to do. Something which would totally benefit me later on. When you are a kid, you have the right to explore and learn all the way. I could too. What I failed to do was to explore… and that ...
